2012 Shimano Ultegra Di2 Intro

This is just one of the few insight to the new electronic shifting presented by Shimano for 2012. Ultegra Di2 looks to be quite promising, with little compromise in performance, and a lot of money saved! Here's a video clip showing off the new 2012 Shimano Ultegra Di2

Yes, this was in Mandarin Chinese, but it does show you how well the grouppo works. Stay tuned on more news on this new grouppo from Shimano!

Thomas Voeckler and his custom Colnago C59 Italia

This is a great photo of Thomas Voeckler of Team Europcar on his custom Colnago C59 Italia.

Voeckler was awarded this custom C59 Italia after taking over the yellow jersey of Le Tour de France this past Sunday. Ernesto Colnago did the final inspection himself on this frame, it doesn't get anymore VIP than that.

Colnago Le Tour de France Special - Team Europcar Thomas Voeckler C59 Italia

Colnago is super excited to see one of their sponsored teams (Team Europcar) to be on the podium, and in a Yellow Jersey no less. To celebrate this joyful occasion, they decided to make a special edition Colnago C59 Italia for the yellow jersey winning Thomas Voeckler. *Photos courtesy of Bikeradar.com*

Colnago's marketing manager Alessandro Colnago who is the grandson of Ernesto gave a small insight to how much effort it was to make this frame in time for tomorrow's stage of Le Tour de France.

Amgen Tour of California stage 4 INSIDE SPECIAL!

A lot of times, cyclists admire those who work for bike shops, often assuming that being an employee for a bike shop such as Wrench Science means tons of perks. Those who are employees of bike shops will tell those cyclists the real deal, and that is we don't get many perks.

Today however was a different story. We were fortunate enough to receive the green light for getting a chance to ride along with the team assist vehicle of Bissell Pro Cycling. We have been selling Pinarello bikes for a long time now so we're no stranger to how well they perform, but to get this opportunity and honor of riding along, being close to the action is just beyond words.

Ernesto Colnago

Everyone has a bike that fits them best. For me it's Colnago. I have long legs, shorter torso. Colnago fit's like a dream. I've ridden a few different manufacturers over the years and there's a lot of amazing bikes out there. However, for me Colnago is the bike. The heritage and years of refinement allowed for him to fine tune every aspect of the bike. It climbs like a goat, no movement at all. It does 50 mph around tight bends and hugs them like a ferrari, no pun intended. It's comfortable and forgiving over a century.

I met Ernesto a few years ago. He's very calm and calculated. He's always said, "There's a production frame that will fit you." In most cases he's right. That's a big part of the magic of building a custom assembled bike and being fit correctly. Contador changed his TT position by mm and gained a few percent. You can imagine that going from your ill fitting bike, to a properly fit bike would see substantial gains.

The issue of overseas fabrication is long gone. It's proven that China, Taiwan and Japan produce some of the best carbon bikes in the world. However, riding a handmade italian c50 is very much like owning an italian sports car. It breathes the machismo that make people attracted to italian goods.

Specialized just came out with a McClaren X Specialized bike. They have learned that the F1 industry has some of the most advanced carbon fiber technology in the world. It looks nice and I'm sure it rides nice too. However, Colnago has been working with Ferrari for over 20 years. I think Specialized probably took a few notes from Colnago over the years.

There's only one bike that I want over my c50 and that's a c59. Over the past 20 years, Colnago has changed what started as the c40 only a few times. They look for the best way to improve a bike, not just come out with a new model each year. So I wanted to thank Ernesto for not giving me the opportunity to use my bike as an excuse for getting dropped on the big climb of the day, or why I couldn't keep up on the descent or why my back hurt at the end of the century. Thanks Ernesto.

BBOX 2wins in a row!!!!

"I knew it was going to be my day," said Fedrigo, who handed his team their second win of the race after Thomas Voeckler's impressive victory on stage 15 on Monday. "I felt something this morning that it was going to be my day. It's just little details, like seeing fans of the team and some family, but I knew I just had to go for it."

An amazing tour for Colnago, and Colnago fans alike, Before the C59 is even released its already landing podium wins, and tour stage wins. 2011 is going to be one of the most exciting years for Colnago. With Wrench Science being the premier dealer of these amazing bicycles, we are honored to be carrying the C59 for the 2011 year.
