There is no doubt; it has been a tough year. While there are signs of economic recovery it is not an easy time to be asking for money and it is with the greatest respect that we ask you to consider participating in our ongoing philanthropy efforts this year. The ugly truth is that cancer does not wane with the current economic situation; its impact continues to touch the lives of many.
Please consider joining or sponsoring the Oceanside Glasstile Cancer Kickers for the 2009 LIVESTRONGChallenge. We are again recruiting teams of walkers, runners and cyclists to participate in the 4 LIVESTRONGChallenges being held across the country. At each of the events we will walk/run a 5K (3 miles) or bike a 10, 40, 70 or 100-mile course.
The LIVESTRONGChallenge is theLance Armstrong Foundation's(LAF) signature fundraising event inspired by the hope, courage and determination that exist in all of us. With the LAF we take to the streets on foot and bike, uniting individuals to stand together in the fight against cancer. Through the awareness and dollars the LAF raises, they inspire and empower individuals and improve the quality of life for the more than 12 million Americans living with cancer.
