Colnago C59 Italia 150th Edition - Customer Review

Here's a review we received from a customer with a custom built Colnago C59 Italia 150th Edition.

See what our client has to say about the gorgeous bike and his take on the Zipp 303 Firecrest carbon clincher wheels.

Hi Tim,

It took a while but the wait was well worth it.  Just like you said, the ride is amazing.  I was surprised how much less road vibration there is on this bike versus my Time NXR Instinct; and it is very stable on downhill turns, again not like the more "twitchy" Time.  I decided to go with the Calfee custom battery in the seat post and I think it is a much cleaner build.  I also went with black handlebar tape and a black saddle, rather than white, which emphasizes the frame more, I think.  I also like the new SRM design, smaller, cleaner and uses both Shimano chainrings now.  Thanks again for the help with getting the color scheme I wanted.  Anyway, here are a few pictures:

Regards,

Ron

PS:  The Zipp 303's are amazing.  I did not think I would notice any difference but wow; fast, stable strong, brakes really well.  I rode them (on my Time) last week for the 6-day Ride the Rockies, which included about 16 miles of bumpy gravel roads!

Hi sir,

I noticed that you're using ultegra di2 , just wondering where did you install the battery?

Thanks,
Tan

Hey Tan,

This bike is actually built with the Dura-Ace DA7090 Di2. The battery was actually retro fitted into the seat post for the clean look you see here. The same thing can be done with the Ultegra Di2 as well. Feel free to email me at henry@wrenchscience.com for more details if you wish to do the same with your bike!

Have a great day!
