FINALLY! The long awaited arrivals of 2012 Zipp 303 Firecrest Carbon Clinchers.

We've been seeing and posting news on these new 2012 Zipp 303 Firecrest Carbon Clinchers since earlier this year. We were teased at Interbike, given the chance to see the production model only to hear that we'd have to wait still before they arrive. Now, they're finally HERE and IN STOCK!

Beautiful, made in USA, and did we mention they're in stock?

The 2012 Zipp 303 Firecrest Carbon Clinchers (and tubulars) have inherited the aero technology that was proven on the 404 Firecrest Carbon wheels as well as 808 Firecrest Carbon wheels in the past year. There was no doubt that 303 would receive the same upgrade, and to top it off,  the new 2012 upgrade made to the 188 rear hubs just sweetened the deal on these wheels.

2012 188 hub on the left, older 188 hub to the right. Notice the huge difference in the offset of the bearing position as well as the angle of the spokes.
As you can see from this picture, the 2012 188 rear hubs pushed the non-drive side bearing further out by 7.5mm, as well as canting the flange by 8 degrees. What does this mean? It means an improvement on overall strength and stiffness, as well as a higher lateral rigidity.

The 2012 303 Firecrest Carbon wheels are available in both Clincher and Tubular versions. They will have 2 color options: Falcon Grey and Beyond Black. Falcon Grey goes for the classier look, lightly smoked hubs, silver spokes, silver nipples, and traditional silver decals. The Beyond Black is for sportier cyclists, with black hubs, black spokes, black nipples, and black decals. For more questions or orders, contact us at sales@wrenchscience.com or 510-841-4748.
